The new ferry “Michela”, the Deputy Minister Çinari: The most comfortable ride to north of Italy

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Dorina Çinari attended the inauguration ceremony of the new ferry “Michela” of the company “Adria Ferries SPA”. The vehicle will serve the Durrës-Ancona-Trieste line and vice versa while it has a capacity of 120 trucks, 100 car and up to 1000 passengers. With this ferry the graph of the movement of vehicles and citizens towards northern Italy will be once in two days, faster and much more qualitative.

“In this way, one of the priorities of one of the three pillars is supported by the Berlin Process, the low cost of movement and transport between the Western Balkans and their countries with the EU countries”, said Mrs. Çinari.

She insisted that since March of this year, after a series of attempts and high level meetings of our government and Italian government, it was possible to remove the “load tax” from the latter. This significantly increased the flow and volumes of truck movement towards the Ports of Italy, Bari-Ancona and Trieste. This fee of € 9.2 per tonne (about 230 Euros per truck) was considerably burdened by more than 25 years in total cost, not only for carriers but also for consumers.
