The new electric substation in Çorovodë, Çinari: 12 thousand inhabitants benefited

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Dorina Çinari was in Çorovoda where she saw closely the new substation built by the Electricity Distribution Operator. In the power system, in the Berat region over the last three years, over 1 billion ALL have been invested, including the Corovoda substation.

“We are here in Çorovodë, at the new 110/35/10 kV electrical substation, which serves 12 thousand inhabitants of this city and at the same time all the electricity producers that will connect through this substation. It is a joint investment between the OSHEE that has built the substation and the OST that has built the 110 kV transmission line that makes it possible to connect private producers. The substation is modern with an automatic load management system. We will have other investments, we will build the new Kuçova substation, we will have investments in low voltage and medium voltage that will serve to increase the security of supply, “said Deputy Minister Çinari.

The new substation is located in an important geographic position, a strategic juncture for the development of the energy market, increasing the quality of electricity supply to the city and the entire Skrapar region, from 6 to 10 kV, where the beneficiaries are about 12 thousand subscribers.

“The importance of this substation is that all the problems that this area had with regard to the quality of supply, the outages and limitations that had the old 35 kV line from Uzova to Poliçan and Çorovoda were eliminated. The substation comes in handy because it covers all the technical parameters of the quality of supply to the area’s consumers, “said the head of the distribution division at OSHEE Petraq Lika.

Along with the substation, the OST also constructed the 110 kV line Uznovë-Çorovodë, worth 450 million lekë, creating access to the electricity system network to the new electricity producers.

Beyond the substation, OSHEE in this region has invested around 360 million ALL, improving the quality of electricity supply in Berat, Kuçova. The reconstruction of the TM and TU electric grid, reconstruction and boiler construction was enabled, where it was deemed necessary. There are already planned 600 million ALL of other investments including the reconstruction of the Kucova substation but also the medium and low tension network in Berat.
