The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy organized a public hearing with interest groups on the State Budget 2018 referring to infrastructure. The event was attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Damian Gjiknuri and Minister of State for Enterprise Protection Sonila Qato. The Albanian government has decided to add over 42% the level of financing for road infrastructure. Minister Gjiknuri during the speech held at this meeting stressed that the projects in the focus of the government will have priority, especially those that deal with the axes and the main national joints. “With next year’s budget we will enable the closure of all open sites, unfortunately started long ago and never properly financed and the continuation of other strategic projects related to the development of tourism and the development of the economy. Whether Lin-Pogradec, or the Kukës-Morina part or other projects that have remained in the middle, including the two bypasses of Vlora and Fier, are extremely important projects that unfortunately have taken a lot of time also because of the inappropriate contractures made many years ago, but virtually all Albanians suffer today, “said the Minister.
Gjiknuri handled several concrete projects, among which he cited the continuation of the second lot of Korça-Erseka road. “We will continue with the procedures for opening the Tepelena bypass, completing this segment, from Levani to the south end. We will continue with the opening of the new ring procedures and we will prioritize the node from the industrial school to the Eagle’s square, which after the already completed segment that comes from TEG and goes to the industrial school deserves a serious intervention in order to facilitate traffic and traffic will go to Durrës. It will be a mainly Albanian government funding from the state budget funds. We will continue with the second lot of Korça-Erseka, linking the municipality with a modern road network, making it part of the new national road network, “said Gjiknuri, adding that the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor will also take advantage.
