Investing in the new Mbrostar water supply is another important step in the projects to aid communities from crossing the TAP pipeline.
The water supply of Mbrostar, in Fier, is being built from scratch. The 550,000 euro investment, which is one of the infrastructure projects that the government has negotiated with TAP, will provide water for about 12,000 residents of this area (including villages of Mbrostar, Petovë, Makaj, Verri, Kallm, Mojalli etc.). This water supply includes distribution network and water storage facilities.
In addition to the construction of the water supply, two new wells will be opened, which will serve for the supply of water, one in the village of Petovo and the other in the village of Makaj. Among other things, the investment envisages: intervention on the outside of the water supply system in the village of Verri; extension of the pipeline in the village of Kallm; pipeline construction to the Mojalli village; construction of two pumping stations; the water supply pipeline from the wells to the two reservoirs. All works are being carried out by Albanian companies and about 50 people are employed.
Director of Water Supply said that the drilling will be doubled, thus increasing the number of water supply subscribers, as well as the quantity of this supply. “It’s a project that benefits about 12,000 people. With these two drilling we are doing, the amount of water is doubled. It will triple the amount of water as a schedule available to subscribers.
Mayor of Fier Armando Subashi said that Fier Municipality in cooperation with the Water Supply Company will continue with the laying of the network. “It is a project that will solve the problem of water supply for all the villages of the Mbrostar administrative unit.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Damian Gjiknuri said that doubling funds for infrastructure investment will bring more facilities like schools, water supply and roads to this area. “This has been one of the infrastructure projects that the Albanian government has negotiated with TAP because it was once a 6m-euro fund. We doubled the investment fund for the benefit of the community, and Fier as one of the municipalities where the pipeline passes, was thought to have infrastructure projects. Where are they going? School, water supply, street.
Prime Minister Rama said that at last with such investments will eventually be able to overcome the crisis situations for water, making a radical transformation of the situation. “It’s been invested for the last time in 1989, as there are plenty of other areas.
Thanks to this cooperation, nowadays we are able to make a radical transformation of the situation, but until 1st February all those who are unlawful, must go to the water supply company, legalize the connection, so they will escape from all the debts. With this investment, the citizens will be guaranteed to have the normal supply after so many years. All of our natural resources had to be turned into wealth for each one.
