Orikum’s electrical substation which is under construction will provide uninterrupted power supply to the Vlora coast. Together with the new Himara substation, it is expected to improve the quality of the coastal power supply, ending one of the most sensitive problems, especially during the tourist season, and will give a boost and more security for the tourism development.
“It is envisaged that the whole area will be guaranteed with quality supply and without interruption. There will be 6 fuses in total with 105 cabins that will guarantee the long-term part of the power supply. It is anticipated that the project will end in the deadline, at the beginning of March 2018, “- said the project implementation leader.
“All the serious drama of many years of the Ionian coast,” said Prime Minister Rama during the inspection of the works, – this ultimately resolves that this is the last segment of the vacuum that was created since electrification and tortured all here, plus, made the tourist season a separate torture. ”
This substation, together with the other substation in Himara and the new electric network, which is completely renewed since the electrification phase, will guarantee the electrical infrastructure for the next 5 decades.
“This is also the part that is related to the investment that OSHEE will do with the Italian Co-operation. Soon we conclude the contract and all 20kV, Radhimë, Orikum up to Llogara and all the coast of Vlora will be done with modern service of electricity. Even in Himara has started the substation and the energy network of this whole area, for 40-50 years will be guaranteed. It is rumored that it has become a new network since the time of electrification, “said Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Damian Gjiknuri.
