ARA and IKMT interfere in Milot, Gjiknuri: The road safety priority

Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Damian Gjiknuri was in Milot today in the framework of the operation for cleaning the national road nodes and axes.

“We are here in one of the important junctions of national axes, Milot’s junction. So far, all those who have passed have seen that there have been illegal objects, unauthorized trading activities, which can often be turned into an accident source. Within this very important operation that has been started to increase the road safety and clean up of national axes, came the turn for this axis. As you can see, illegal buildings are being cleaned here. They also witnessed the demolition of the illegally constructed object near the road axis, “said Gjiknuri.

According to him, this process will continue in all national axes. “I understand that there are people who are affected economically but we have to understand that the most important thing in these cases is road safety. Often these commercial activities at the edge of the road are a source of accidents and a major problem for traffic. You see, the Albanian government is determined to move this process to the end, “underlined Gjiknuri.

Further, he also focused on the issue of fuel tables and the need for a new model for advertising these activities without violating the Road Code.

“Yesterday, we had a meeting with all the major fuel companies, and the tables set without approval from them will be voluntarily or forcibly removed. We found understanding with the operators as they realized that it is time to remove these tables and together with the ministry they will find a certain pattern approved as fuel stations will advertise their product, “Gjiknuri said.
